Mega evolutions didn’t just improve the Pokemon, but radically altered how we could use each one. Gigantamax and Dynamax both give Pokemon a significant advantage, but any Pokemon can use it, reap its benefits, and change the tide of the battle. In addition, this usually didn’t change how certain Pokemon played, just scaled them up.
The final verdict: Victini VMAX is broken against V decks and will only get better when time goes on. When rotation happens, the difficult GX matchups will go away, and a couple of 1-prize decks that are good right now also will rotate (Spiritomb & Blacephalon). One thing is clear. The future looks really bright for Victini VMAX.

Is GX or Vmax better? One of my biggest complaints about the current Tag Team GX cards is that they have incredibly high HP and attack numbers on Basic Pokémon. While Pokémon VMAX have even higher HP numbers, we now have to consider that these are Evolved Pokémon. They won’t be hitting the board and attacking on turn one!

Better still, the Pokemon has a trick up its sleeve to help it to set up. The Hyper Hypnosis ability puts the opponent's active Pokemon to sleep whenever the user attaches an energy card to Malamar.
#15 Drednaw VMAX – Water – HP320 VMAX Pokemon (Gigantamax) – Evolves from Drednaw V. Ability: Hard Shell This Pokemon takes 30 less damage from attacks. [W][W][C] G-Max Stonesurge: 160+ damage. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 80 more damage. When your Pokemon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards. Weakness
Also to expand on theme decks; cards get rotated out of play yearly -- the last four sets to be released get rotated. This year it was Primal Clash, Roaring Skies, and Ancient Origins; which is only three; likely because BREAKthrough was the first set to introduce BREAK cards and they didn't want to remove them so early (forgive me if I'm wrong but BREAKs weren't printed in later sets?) When it comes to this deck's best matchups, we're looking at two: Pikachu & Zekrom-GX (sm9-33) and Mewtwo & Mew-GX (sm11-71) variants. It is fairly common for Eternatus VMAX to be able to draw and play down enough Pokémon to do 240 or 270 damage on the second turn. Centiskorch VMAX (swsh3-34) variants are also favorable as well because GX was able to imitate the buttery suede much better. Another weakness is the stitching. Even thou this is a very minor difference, the stitching on the retail pair is slightly tighter than the LJR pair. GX also takes the win here as the stitching on the GX pair is not as loose as LJR. GX also has waxier laces than LJR which is more accurate to Dragapult VMAX benefits greatly from being a Psychic type, thus having access to a lot of great supporting choices in Pokémon, Trainers, and Energy. The card has an easy time targeting down your opponent’s support Pokémon like the popular Dedenne- GX and Jirachi, making it very easy to close out games quickly. Mew VMAX: Faster, Better, Stronger! Since its release in Fusion Strike, Mew VMAX has been a consistent contender in the metagame. I think it will be very difficult to find a major tournament over the past 9 months where Mew has not placed in the top positions, something that perfectly expresses the power and versatility of this deck. The Pokémon Trading Card Gamehas had a number of different generations, with the brilliant first-generation Pokémonbeing the initial batch and subsequent Pokémon being added or reprinted over time to further enhance and expand the deck. One such variety of cards that were introduced during the eight With the release of the newest Sword & Shield set, Darkness Ablaze, we get one of the new best VMAXs and one of the new best decks in our standard format! Eternatus VMAX! Eternatus VMAX has a very powerful attack and a great new ability allowing you to have up to 8 bench Dark-type Pokémon! This, combined with the new Crobat V, makes this deck 12 comments. Add a Comment. Sergeant_Magicarp • 2 yr. ago. I would say that Rapid Strike Urshifu is a better card overall than Single Strike, but right now the meta is heavily in favor of Single Strike Urshifu as it can be played alongside Umbreon Vmax. This is a huge advantage because it counters every single notable psychic decks in the
And more importantly it has a one colorless that can attach up to a whopping 3 fire energy which can help you with pesky vmax and going second. I don’t see rayquaza a deck focus solely on that but more of what alcremie is to shadow. 3.. 4.. maybe 5. Three support stage 1 pokemon is hard to get consitently.
